Fairy Tales Coloring Book: Published in Sweden as "Sagolikt" Reviews
This is a gorgeous and fun coloring book. It arrived today from Amazon in perfect condition, as usual. I can't even say enough great things about Amazon. The book is the same square-like size as Johanna's books. The cover has a beige background with some of the artwork being gold-foiled. The inside cover has nice crisp-lined illustrations that can be colored in with the medium of your choice, although I would stay away from alcohol based markers. When you open the book, it reveals a nice introductory page to color in. It's the very first page (this book belongs to), again with nice black crisps lines. The pages are double sided. The paper is of upper medium quality but I'm not sure what mediums it can handle. The paper itself is a little toothy, which I love. I will be using Derwent Coloursoft and Farber Castell Polychromos, along with some light watercoloring. There are no perforated pages to allow for page removal but that is fine as I plan on leaving the pages in the book to make for a cute keepsake. The illustrations are lovely and are appropriate for colorists of any level. I would highly recommend this book!! It's fun and whimsical, with cute illustrations. Anyone would absolutely fall in love with this book!!! It's worth every penny and will not disappoint. I will be ordering a few more to give as Christmas presents. This is a wonderful addition to my coloring book collection.
This is my first coloring book by Emelie Lidehall Oberg. The designs cover a wide range of subjects. While there may be some fairy tales designs included, for the most part, the designs appear to be a range of both fantasy and still life (flowers, dresses, etc.) The artist has a unique design style with her creatures all having cute round eyes. Her people have round cheeks and predominate eyelids. They are quite different from other designers and make for a fun coloring experience.
Fairy Tales–previously published as Sagolikt–is a super adorable coloring book depicting characters and imagery from Swedish fairy tales. While I’m not familiar with Swedish stories, I still recognized several of the pages. Even without knowing what story I was looking at, every page is enchanting and gorgeous.
I have purchased many adult coloring books and this one is so beautiful. The pictures are so pleasing to the eye. The content is whimsical which makes you want to complete the pictures.
I don't know why it took me so long to purchase this book, it is absolutely gorgeous! The images are very unique, consisting of some recognizable fairy tale scenes along with many adorable animals, quaint buildings, and beautiful florals. I love this artist's style, I actually prefer her artwork over Hanna Karlzon's, even though her books are much more popular. The paper is amazing, my Prismas have worked very well. I can't wait to color every image in this book!! I would really like to purchase her other book, too, but can't find it anywhere online.
This coloring book has such a special place in my coloring selections. I am almost finished. This book has been like a journey through fantasy, colors, and a zest to bring life to this adventure. You must have this in your collection. I am using gel pens but pencils would be great. The art work using detail and creativity is unbelievable. The texture of the paper quality is very good. Have fun!
